Untitled (2025)

In this photographic series, I photographed various grocery bags using a macro lens, revealing abstract compositions and unexpected graphic qualities hidden within their printed surfaces. By zooming in closely, the original function and context of the bags disappear, transforming them into unfamiliar images with their own visual language. The texture of the materials themselves, including creases, fibres, reflections, and imperfections, sometimes becomes an additional layer within the image, contributing to the abstract quality of these enlarged fragments.

The series examines how familiar graphic languages change when they are removed from their intended context. Logos, colours, and printed forms, normally encountered as fleeting visual information, are transformed into autonomous images that can be appreciated for their formal qualities rather than their communicative function. Through framing and magnification, this series is an attempt at reveiling a visual complexity that often remains unnoticed in everyday materials.
