I <3 music!
My earliest creative impulses were shaped by music and filmmaking. During the 2010s, discovering alternative electronic music online became a cathartic moment that sparked a deep desire to explore electronic sound.

Today, I produce music primarily under my Gibby alias. My process is highly exploratory, leaning toward ambient and experimental territories, always guided by a focus on technicality, sound design, and sonic exploration.

I have released two EPs: one on Surf, a label run by Usof in Portugal, and another on Cime Records, a label and collective based in Leipzig. I have also contributed numerous singles to various compilations and collaborative projects.

Alongside making music, I run a label of my own called In Unison.

Saskia Smith about Da Da Da:

Stranded alone on an island in a simulated world, Gibby composes playful sounds fuelled by the freedom of his solitude. As he feasts on the exploratory potentials his virtual landscape harbours, herewith embracing its endless possibilities, his music simultaneously cites the melancholia this isolation inevitably attracts.

Gibby’s sentiments refract into synthetic sounds at the moment of their expression. But while these lively sound-bursts of plastic fun veil his true emotions, the underlying feelings of loneliness reverberate. The outcome is a sound that hikes through different sentimental landscapes.

Imbued by these emotional controversies, Gibby's music ultimately urges us to meditate on whether a lonely screen existence in virtual worlds is worth giving up for human proximity.
